The city of Stuttgart presents: KLIKS (Klimaschutzkonzept Stuttgart - Climate Protection Programme)
Why do we need KLIKS?

The impacts of the greenhouse effect are a threat to the global climate. Local governments and all citizens are called upon facing this threat. The most important thing is to fight efficiently against what threatens our climate most, i. e. the increase in greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions, which are mainly a result of the combustion of fossil fuels, must be reduced substantially.

Cities and their inhabitants play an important role in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. There are huge possibilities for lowering the emission of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide. As capital of the Land of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart has worked out a climate protection programme, containing recommendations for reducing atmospheric emissions in various fields.
