3. The regional climate and air situation
Solar radiation


Solar radiation measurements for the region of Stuttgart are carried out, among others, at the University of Hohenheim. The following values for global radiation were recorded between 1951 and 1980 (table 3.4):

Analogous to the position of the sun, the lowest irradiation values occur in December, the highest in June and July. The month of July also has the biggest amount of sunshine hours (about 16 hours), December the fewest (about 8 hours) (table 3.5).
